FLEA CONTROL

Since fleas can be difficult to control and require specialized treatments we separate this service to target exclusively fleas. There are many types of fleas such as the Human fleas, Oriental rat flea, Northern rat fleas, Sticktight flea, and  Mouse flea. We will mainly discuss the most common type problem fleas which is the dog and cat fleas. 

Dog fleas are very similar to Cat fleas but they are mainly found on wild animals rather than on domestic pets. Since both species are intermediate host of the dog tapeworm they can become a danger of children ingesting the infected fleas. One way you can detect the presence of fleas place a white sock on the carpet to produce a sample. Since cat fleas are the most common problem that you the customer may encounter look below to learn more about them. 

Fleas have different life cycles so that is why it is important to treat a certain way to eliminate flea problems.(1) egg, (2) Larvae, (3) adult

CAT FLEA

 To control these fleas DellPest will need to spray an insecticide with an IGR (Insect growth regulator) directly to carpet and certain upholsteries to eliminate them. These products are safe for colored fabrics .We ask the customer to leave the home for two hours after this treatment. The customer is responsible for the following preparation before we arrive:

 

A. INTERIOR:

1. Vacuum all carpet and furniture

2. Vacuum bag immediately removed

3. All pets removed and dipped or treated accordingly

4. Fish tanks covered and unplugged.

5. Air conditioner turned off or other ventilations.

6. Pet bedding removed.

7 All articles removed from off the floor best as possible.

 

B. EXTERIOR:

1. High grass cut and raked up.

2. All articles such as toys, pet dishes,  and debris removed at least 20 feet from the structure

3. Make sure that no one walks on the outside at least 2 hours after treatment.

 

We recommend that all control measures be done at the same time. You should consult your veterinarian for the best results to eliminate fleas from your pet.  We do not endorse any products or techniques for your pet. We provide services for your structure only. Do not have your carpet cleaned for at least 3 months after treatment or this could void any warranties. It is best to have this cleaned just before treatment.
